Volunteer Opportunities:

Game Correspondents

Game Correspondents are responsible for keeping up-to-date with their assigned game, covering everything from reviews to unique features to major patches and updates. You will have the opportunity to voice your opinions about the game’s progress and share your thoughts with the community at large. You will also have a chance to write useful gameplay and strategy guides that would greatly benefit your game’s community!

We are looking for people who are very interested in the industry as a whole with the will and dedication to hunt stories, follow leads and do proper research for their articles. Creativity and objectivity are must-have qualities as well as a good understanding of the English language. A writing sample will be required and previously published work (web or print) is a plus but not needed.

We want writers to:

• Be able to cover stories assigned to them.
• Be able to come up with own stories and follow them.
• Do proper research for stories and take initiative.
• Maintain professional and objective perspective without losing their personal touch.
• Conduct interesting interviews.
• Be able to estimate ETAs for their work and be able to meet deadlines.

Benefits:

• All Game Correspondents will get a unique forum title (ex: World of Warcraft Correspondent).
• Active Game Correspondents may have additional opportunities for special assignments including but not limited to beta previews.

Forum Moderators

We are also seeking volunteer Moderators for the forums. Moderators are responsible for enforcing the Rules of Conduct on the forums, as well as coordinating with the Community Manager and other Moderators about forum policies.

Requirements:

• Dedication to uphold our Rules of Conduct
• An avid interest in the games-mmo.com community
• An aptitude and willingness to work in a virtual team environment
• Your games-mmo.com USERNAME.

Preferred:

• Past experience in forum or chat moderation

Fansite creator

We are also looking for anyone who knows how to code in web languages such as HTML and PHP. Unfortunately we can’t pay anyone for this role at the moment, however getting the experience and working with the GamesMMO team is a reward in itself If you are willing to help out code and design fansites now as a volunteer then later on in the future it could become a paid job.

Requirements:

• Any HTML / PHP / CSS / knowledge
• An avid interest in the games-mmo.com community
• To be able to work as a team, and with a game correspondent.
• Your games-mmo.com USERNAME.
